Dual Staircase Construction with "Needle" Reinforcement

Updated: Oct 12, 2022

Staircase is a unique component of a building that help in bridging the vertical distance between the upper and lower floors. Thus, it is inevitable to select an appropriate type of staircase while designing and constructing a house or a building. There are various types of staircases depending upon its shape, functional advantage, availability of spaces, and adaptability to construction materials. So, as per the availability of spaces, stairs can be single flight, double flight or of more than double flights. The one which #aadflames have experimented now is a dual arc staircase which is landing on first floor with 360 degree access to all rooms.

Like spiral stairs, Dual stairs follow a helical arc. However, they tend to have a much larger radius and typically do not make a full circle. Curved stairs add elegance to any home or business. For this reason, they are almost always located at the entry where they make the best first impression. Curved staircases are often very elegant and traditional but this type of design can equally be adapted to contemporary architecture. They are relatively easy to walk up if the radius is large.

You must be aware that, Single Flight Staircase and Double Flight Staircase are the most commonly used staircases options in a house or a building. But, both have gross differences and if you are brainstorming on choice between these two options, you have to read in detail about both of these design options? Well, you may count on the resource of aadflames that can help you by providing outline details about both these staircases along with some basic differences between Single Flight Staircase and Double Flight Staircase.

Some of the staircase’s weight can be spread through the stringers. For example, some floating stairs are supported by a single welded steel spine that runs underneath the treads and attaches to the existing wall. To further share the load of the treads, you can add a second stringer on the other side of the treads. The extra bracing strengthens the structure and transfers some of the load to the floor. #aadforyou
